Questions about Breathwork Teacher Training
1. Can I take this course even if I have never done Breathwork before?
Yes, absolutely! Many people will attend the training without having ever tried it simply because they may have seen people around them transform!
Or they have an intuition in their heart that Breathwork is a tool that can help shift this planet and they want to be a part of this movement!
If you’ve never done Breathwork, here is a short 10-minute Breathwork track that you can listen and breathe to at home. This will give you a sense of the technique and the impact it can have even in a short session.
2. I’ve heard that in some teacher training courses the group is so large that sometimes my questions might not get answered?
Don’t worry, I’ve got you covered! I will make time to address all questions - even if we were to run out of time in the training, I will be doing 1-2 ZOOM follow up calls (which will be recorded) within the first month of the training to answer any lingering or new questions after you've been out practicing what you've learned. I never want anyone to leave feeling confused or unsure about anything! Details about this will be given in the workshop.
3. Can I come with a friend or partner etc?
Absolutely, and I encourage it! Although I will suggest during the training that you do your exercises and most of your work separate from one another. There’s always more room for growth when we are out of our comfort zone somewhat. That being said, to be able to go through the teacher training with a special person will only make the overall experience more memorable and expansive.
4. If I miss the first Module 1 for example, how long before you offer that training again?
Right now the way I’m scheduling them is every 2-3 months. So I will do Mod 1 and in between that I will offer Mod 2 Also, if you’re eager to take a specific Module prior to the next timeframe, look at some of the other cities and dates where I will be offering that particular TBZ Module.
And maybe that will work for you if you feel like traveling to a different city for the training. Sometimes getting out of your hometown makes for a more immersive experience. Since I am currently lining up other cities for TBZ teacher training if you know of a city where you would like to host a TBZ Teacher Training send an email here.
5. I know this work brings up deep emotions and sometimes long-buried traumas etc.
What if I get overly emotional after a session during the training will I still be able to focus on learning during the remainder of the weekend?
Excellent question! During the training, there will be grounding time after every Breathwork session or exercise that brings up emotions, pain or anger, etc. We will also have an opportunity for group sharing to help support one another in between.
Additionally, as a Certified Behavior Change Specialist and in addition to having worked with all kinds of personalities, issues, and traumas, in my wellness career for over 24 years nothing has ever come up in my presence that I’ve not been able to handle or hold space for.
6. After I complete the first Module of the TBZ teacher training will I be ready to start teaching?
The best way to answer this is that while everyone is different and everyone feels ready at different times, technically you will have enough basic information to start leading private sessions and small groups or classes depending on which module you took.
I do still encourage taking both Modules to complete the Certification so that you have all the tools you need and a deeper understanding of the work to make this a career if that’s your goal. But whether you want to make it a career or a part-time job, you will absolutely be ready to begin doing some great world changing and planet shifting work!
Questions about Breathwork Class In General
7. How should I prepare for my first Breathwork class?
The Physical:
It’s preferable to do Breathwork on an empty stomach so plan to have your last meal 2-3 hours prior to your class. Arrive at least 10 minutes early so you can get yourself situated and settled in to allow for the fullest experience possible.
Bring water and wear loose clothing especially around your stomach area. If you are a person who tends to get chilly please bring your own blanket because when the class is full there is a chance the studio will run out of blankets.
The Emotional:
Come with an open mind and heart and with zero expectations based on what you’ve heard can happen during the Breathwork session and instead go with the flow as the class unfolds.
The Mental:
Try to check your brain at the door. Your brain will try to keep you from going deep and will do it’s best job at blocking you from having an “experience”.
8. What happens if I feel like I am freaking out during the class, my friend said they got anxious and cramped up etc.?
As your teacher and coach during the Breathwork session I am trained in how to manage various physical and emotional situations that can come up for you during the session. I will always have my eyes on all of you and will be ready to come assist you immediately should something come up.
Additionally, the fastest way to regulate your body and energy back to normal is to simply go back to regularly paced nose/mouth breathing. All of this information will be covered at the start of the Breathwork class as well.
9. I’ve heard there are lots of people crying and having various emotional releases during class, is this true?
Yes, the style of Breathwork we will practice has a tendency to create an opening for an emotional release to occur and happens in every class to various people. Please remember that we are all doing this work to feel better, more alive, less stressed, relieve painful past experiences etc. so if this is happening during the session to someone near you consider it a win and know that good things are happening.
Try to stay on you and your experience.
10. What should I do if my emotions are raw when I the Breathwork class is over?
Always, always be gentle with yourself as you getting ready to leave the studio. Never rush up and out of the studio, take your time getting up and if you need to sit and chill in the studio for an extra 15-30 minutes before getting in your car to leave please do that. After class ask for a copy of my Breathwork post care grounding ideas and tips for when you get home.
11. I loved your playlist where can I get the music from tonight’s class?
Sign up on my email here and I will send out the playlist from whatever class you were in
12. I loved what you read at the end of class where can I get a copy of that?
Send me an email and I will send it to you.
13. Do you offer private Breathwork sessions?
Absolutely, if interested reach out here and we can set something up.
14. How can I keep practicing more than once a week now that I discovered this amazing tool?
It’s simple really. Create a playlist of music that moves you, set up a comfortable, cozy space in your home that you can dedicate to Breathwork and meditation. Grab a mat, blanket and your music and make it a morning ritual. Even 10-20 minutes every morning can be beneficial.
Remember the technique: open your mouth - take in a big, deep, full belly breath...fill it up, take in a second big breath into your chest, then softly, gently release it out your mouth.
Keep the breath circular and flowing. No stop and the top or bottom of the cycle of breaths, like links in a chain. Be sure to not force the exhale. Alternatively, check out my Breath At Home With RK 10 minutes Breath track (longer versions coming soon)
Either way, drop in to the breath and let it go…let it flow! Stay on it, go after every breath like your life depends on it. Because if you want to shift and grow bad enough...it does. Enjoy and happy shifting.
